Core stabilization for low back pain and low back pain prevention is now in the Curovate app!
Curovate, the physical therapy app, now has daily core stabilization within the app. What does this mean? Since 2016 we have been providing knee, hip and lower leg rehabilitation following ACL injury or surgery, knee replacements, hip replacements and general knee and hip strengthening. We have just introduced a simple and easy plan to follow for daily core stabilization. The term core stabilization is used broadly for a group of exercises that are done to strengthen the muscles around the front and back of your body to reduce or prevent low back pain. Core stabilization exercises are often prescribed by physical therapists to people who have a lower back (or lumbar) disc bulge or herniation, spinal stenosis, spondalolisthesis, and generalized low back pain. This may sound too good to be true but core stabilization has been researched and proven to help people address most low back disorders as well as for the prevention of low back pain. If you are interested in some of the research related to core stabilization and why you should be doing core exercises refer to our blogs:

How do I start using the Core Stabilization app by Curovate?
First, download the Curovate app from the links below. After you create an account you will see the following screen. Scroll to the very bottom of this screen and select “Core Stabilization” and then select “7 minutes daily.” This will start you on your daily core stabilization exercises.
The core stabilization app always starts you in stage 1. This is the first stage and following the exercises in this stage will teach you how to contract your multifidus and transversus abdominus. The multifidus and the transversus abdominus are two very important muscles that are responsible for core stabilization. Stage 1 will teach you the foundations of core stabilization and then each future stage, from 2-25, will build on the core exercises to make them more challenging. Remember that each stage is 7 days long with the exception of stage 1 which is only a day. If you complete all 7 minutes of core exercises each day you will be ready to progress to the next stage. If you ever have any questions or concerns about the core stabilization program please send us a message via the in-app chat.
